Music, Haikus, and ...

Feelin' good about Infrastructure, we recorded a cover of One by U2 over the weekend, I hate the bongo part I made up (it was a 20 min job anyways) so i invented a new one and it sounds a lot better, were gonna record it this week. Hopefully Michelle decides to start writing her own songs...

The current version is here:

Thinkin about getting a stratocaster, I've got the cash but parents are stingy. I hardly need one anyways, I play piano and I've already got a drum set and a bass. Maybe I'm being brat about it but I just like being able to play different instruments...w/e I'll figure something out. Bass is averagely enjoyable, not my favorite, I'm probably still in love with drumming so maybe I'll sell my bass and amp at some point and buy some guitar stuff...that's what I really wanna do, too bad parents will never understand that. CANNOT wait til I have my own place.

Also found another webcomic...its called MacHall, totally story of my life. Ya'll should read it sometime:

Here's a favorite, totally describes my life, read the title:

Besides that I plan to start writing album reviews in the school paper...I'll post 'em up here as I finish them, gotta decide who I should start with...nothing too emo and probably nothing mainstream but nothing so indie that no one will care. Maybe Decemberists, I could always do combo articles describing either the band or another album that people woud've heard before.

"iFone"

I found this iPhone spoof on core77.com via notcot.org. Pretty funny, a phone scotch taped to an iPod, recently sold on eBay.

Well I was talking to a friend of mine, a member of both of my bands, and he was thinking about ending Suave and the Normies. The past few rehearsals have been total busts. We do have some talent in the group but we just don't fit together well. We all have different styles, funky, jazzy, metal shreddy, and we just won't listen each other, not to mention the sibling rivalry between our bassist and guitarist. While we haven't had any shows it is kind of a dissapointment but it was never going anywhere. As for Infrastructure we'll be trying to record some stuff once we get some time in the next few weeks, might try a cover of One by U2, gotta get me some bongos.

iPhone

It's official, the iPhone has been announced and is suspected to be available in June. This is an amazing piece of equipment, too many features to say. All it is is a 3.5" screen and one button, the rest you just use your finger on the special "Multi-Touch" touch screen. You can use all the basic phone functions(phone calls, texting, contacts...) along with iPod functions, Safari (web browsing), you can sync the phone with your computer and save pictures, music, video, and your contacts on it. It has email, the ability to use google map, a camera.

This is all just off the top of my head, to see it in much more detail check out the keynote itself:

Along with the iPhone, Apple announces the release of the TV but surpisingly very little on their computers. They show they're usual sales graphs and such but no info on iLife or iWork '07.

That's all for Apple...check out the Apple site if you haven't seen all of their new products.

Infrastructure

Well, me and a member of my current band decided to break off and start our own little conglomeration of music. We found someone who can sing (something we were lacking in SatN..) and plan to do some kind of Neutral Milk Hotel, Sonic Youth style stuff. I myself will mainly be on drums and various percussion instruments along with piano and the occasional bass part (I'm a one man rhythm section) , my other friend will be playing guitar and drums, and i guess whatever other abilities he shows, and our new singer can play various mallet instruments (xylophone, etc.) as well as sing beautifuly. You can check out our PureVolume page at http://www.purevolume.com/infrastructure
Kinda empty at the moment but I'll be updating it soon.

Bored...readin some QC

Totally my idle. Or maybe that's just a summary of my life..either one.

Yeah that's possibly the best webcomic ever..Questionable Content. You should read it.

Not much happenin lately. Joined this site www.lost.eu its pretty cool, check it out. You can join (and help me get more points) at

Found out about some new bands from my brother...some of em are pretty good.
The Format
Murder by Death
Explosions in the Sky
Minus the Bear

(Gave me some Bloc Party and Snow Patrol but we already know about them don't we)

I'd suggest you check out The Format's cd Dog Problems. Probably my favorite out of those four bands.

OH! almost forgot!
Well Macworld started today, the famous keynote address is tomorrow morning, sposed to be an hour longer than usual. There've been many predictions but it looks like the basic line up (this is just guesses and hunches) is the introduction of the iPhone and the iTV, some updates on Leopard, the usual intro of iLife and iWork, and a few others. Check out http://www.macworld.com/ for info, predictions, and updates during the keynote.

Til next time...
