So with the course selections for this semester I've been thinking about the types of careers available to me in the future. Despite my love, and skill...I don't like to be vain, for music I don't see it as a career path. The next thing would be Business. Definitly a future there, Accounting is always a good position, I could even go into Music Business & Management I'd just rather do something creative, I'm not one to want to sit in an office all day unless I'm doing something tedious like underlining (don't ask me why). The rest of my interests revolve around computers.
Computer related stuff will definitly be important in the comming years as technology grows so programming and design will be strong careers. I'm sure there's tons of different areas in Computer Science but one thing that always sparks my interest is gaming. My only problem with this specific field is the aspect of being a game maker. Not the title I'd particularly want but it could be interesting. I'm torn on the necessity of new people to this industry. On one side I've been noticing a drop in creativity for games, seems like all of the games comming out are clones of each other, especially the overly medieval, saturated MMO market. This lack of originality may not bode well for the industry and it may not be the greatest of choices. On the other hand new, young designers could be just what the big companies need. Young, creative thinkers, the consumers of their games over the past few years, are the ones that they need ideas from and we could very well be the creators of a whole new line of unique games, we just need to stick our heads into the mess and throw our ideas out there.
I dunno, such a complicated thing to think about.
Career...
